Forensics is an activity that allows students to enhance their communication skills through participation in 15 categories. These categories include; demonstration speaking, extemporaneous speaking, 4-minute informative speech, historical speeches, oratory, radio speaking, group interpretive, public address, special occasion speaking, group interpretive reading, play acting, poetry reading, prose reading, farrago reading, solo acting and storytelling. Some categories are memorized while others are read. Some categories are done in a group and others as an individual. Competition begins at the sub-district level, then the district level, and finally state competition.
Forensics is an individual activity and also a team activity. The individual student arranges a time to practice with a coach. As a group, we compete for team awards.
