Literacy Together
Calling All K–4 Future THEATER Stars!

The Merrill High School Theatre Jays are thrilled to host our very first Little Jays Summer Day Camp — a week full of creativity, learning, and fun, all leading up to a live performance!

Location: Merrill High School, Door 16
Dates: Tuesday, August 19 – Friday, August 22
Drop-off: 8:00 AM | Pick-up: 2:00 PM
Cost: $50 (Due on the first day)
Final Performance: Friday, August 22 at 1:30 PM — Families welcome!

Throughout the week, campers will explore the basics of theater, participate in hands-on activities, and prepare for a final performance to showcase their talents.

Exciting Update for Session 4 – Learn to Swim Level 6 Now Available!
We've heard your requests! Several parents and guardians have now reached out to us asking about a Learn to Swim Level 6 class. While we haven’t offered this level in the past due to low interest and class sizes, we are happy to announce that we will be adding it to Session 4 at 9:00 AM!
This time slot opened up as the previous class had no students registered, making it the perfect opportunity to introduce Level 6 to our lineup.
We still have plenty of other levels and time slots available in Session 4 as well, so whether you're just starting or looking to build on your skills, there's something for everyone. If you are interested and available, we would love to have you join us—sign up today! #WeAreMAPS

As we look ahead, we want to let families know that we still have plenty of openings in Sessions 3 and 4. There are available spots across all class levels and time slots, so whether your child is just starting out or continuing to build their skills, we’ve got a class that fits your schedule.

🎙️ Bluejay Radio Update Amber Haluska, Director of Pupil Services/Special Education, recently joined Community Scan to share exciting MAPS updates! 📚 Summer School: Elementary students will attend from June 4–18 at Kate Goodrich with a focus on reading, math, and even swimming lessons! High School summer school includes credit recovery opportunities. Plus, summer band camps and weight training will be available for older students. 🌟 New This Year – Smart Start: A focused reading program for students entering grades 1–4, held at Washington in early August to support continued reading growth. 🚌 Transportation Update: Beginning in the 2025–26 school year, MAPS will partner with Kobussen Buses, a family-owned company serving Wisconsin for over 85 years. They're currently hiring for several roles in Merrill! 🥣 Meal Program Notice: Universal free breakfast will end this fall due to depleted funds. Families are encouraged to apply for free/reduced meals as needed.
