Want to Avoid the Lines on Election Day?
In addition to voting on April 3, you can choose to vote in advance, at your local clerk’s office or polling location (often located in your city, town or village town hall).

Beginning in mid-late March, local clerks will begin accepting walk-in voters. Contact your local municipal clerk for information about absentee, early in-person voting dates and hours.

If you are registered to vote at your current address, you may cast your ballot absentee by mail prior to Election Day. Requesting
a mail ballot is easy:

To cast a ballot on April 3, you need to be registered to vote. There are several ways to register:

On Election Day. Register to vote at the polls on April 3.

By Mail. Submit a voter registration form to your municipal clerk up to 20 days prior to Election Day:

Online. Complete the online registration form at: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/.

Clerk’s Office. Register in-person at your municipal clerk’s office up through the Friday before Election Day, (March 30).
Regardless of how you register, you must provide proof of residence showing your name and current residential address along with your completed registration form.

State of Wisconsin Driver License – must be current/valid

Real estate tax bill or receipt for the current year or preceding year of Election Day

Utility bill covering a period within 90 days of Election Day

Bank statement

Paycheck or paystub
