The Merrill Blue Jay Ski Club is an after school club that is available and open to all students in grades 6 through 12. Every Tuesday during the winter, Ski Club members are transported to Granite Peak Ski Resort where they ski and snowboard from 4:00 to 7:00. MAPS has dedicated advisors and chaperones who volunteer their time to operate this club. They help newbies learn how to ski, and provide assistance on the slopes, chalets, and busses for our students. Ski Club ends our season with an all day Saturday trip to one of the ski resorts in Upper Michigan. Since our first season in 2007-2008, hundreds of MAPS students have participated in the Blue Jay Ski Club. Ski Club was also awarded a Merrill Community Foundation Grant in 2009 to help with operating costs. The Blue Jay Ski Club thanks our partners at Granite Peak for making this experience affordable to our students. We Love Snow!
